How to Choose a Drying System for Egg Tray Production Line?

Table of Contents

Drying is a very important stage of the egg tray machine, which determines the shape and appearance of the egg tray.

Egg tray drying line is used for drying semi-finished products. There are a few different types of egg tray drying lines that are not only efficient but also environmentally friendly. In terms of materials, there are brick and metal egg tray drying lines. From the perspective of automation, there are semi-automatic and fully automatic egg tray drying lines.

So how should you choose the drying method?

Drying method you should learn

  1. Natural drying

Place the formed egg tray on the tray (bamboo or galvanized material) and then place it on the drying rack, push it to the open ground, and dry it through sunlight and natural wind.

Generally, you need to prepare 100-200 racks, and 24-30 mesh sheets can be placed on one rack. You can place 3-4 egg trays on one mesh.

  • Advantages: No energy required for drying (reduces production costs)
  • Disadvantages: More manpower required and large floor space, business depends on the weather
  • Suitable for machine type: 3*1/4*1/*3*4/4*4

2. Drying Container

The container is made of mineral wool and galvanized sheet insulation, plus other components, such as burner fans, etc.

Place the formed egg tray on the tray (galvanized) and then put it on the drying rack, push it into the drying container, and it will take around half an hour to complete the drying process.

10-12 trolleys can be placed in the box, and each trolley can hold 90-100 egg trays. Total capacity is around 1000 pcs half an hour. An additional 10 trolleys are provided for easy recycling.

  • Advantages: Production can continue as usual in windy or rainy weather, and it occupies a small area
  • Disadvantages: Greater investment in manpower is required
  • Suitable for machine type: 3*1 /4*1

3. Civil construction kiln drying

The drying kiln is composed of drying duct, air duct, return air duct, preheating air duct, front and rear brackets, steel wire conveyor belt, air equalization plate and speed regulating mechanism, combustion chamber and temperature measurement system, circulation fan, etc. It adopts fire-resistant Brick, onsite civil construction.

The formed egg tray enters the drying tunnel through the mesh belt, and is dried for 15 minutes (180-200 degrees) and then comes out from the other side. The drying length is generally 40-70 meters. The fuel selection is generally coal, wood, Natural gas, diesel, etc.

  • Advantages: The construction cost of multi-layer drying is lower than that of multi-layer drying, and it can also be automated.
  • Disadvantages: long floor space, high drying cost, slow preheating, and more time
  • Suitable for machine type: 3*4/4*4/4*8/5*12

4. Multi-layer Mental drying

The metal dryer consists of a main fan, a dehumidification fan, a galvanized tray, a chain, an insulating rock wool, a galvanized sheet, a combustion chamber and a temperature measurement system, a circulation fan, etc. It is manufactured in the factory and dismantled for shipment.

The formed egg tray enters the drying room through the tray. After 6 layers of drying for 25 minutes (180-200 degrees), it comes out from the lower end. The length of the drying room is 18 meters * 6 layers. The fuel options are generally coal, wood, and natural gas. , diesel, etc.

  • Advantages: small ground cover, effective energy saving, high degree of automation
  • Disadvantages: Investment cost more
  • Suitable for machine type: all the types

Analyze to match your need

1. Figure out how many trays you want to make per hour

As you know, the drying method should be matched with the production quantity. For the big line, natural drying is hard to match with the lines, even a 4*4 model with a capacity of 2500-3000pcs/h, because needs more manpower.

For the small type 3*1 and 4 *1 with a capacity of 1000-1500pcs, also adopt mental drying, but the cost is higher than natural drying, but It needs to be considered comprehensively based on the site area and labor input.

2. The amount you want to invest into this project

Capital investment includes equipment purchase, transportation, customs clearance, site purchase or leasing, site civil construction, installation costs, factory manpower consumption, electricity consumption, water consumption, equipment maintenance, later market promotion, and other miscellaneous expenses.

Capital investment means the size of the project, and market research is required to better select the molding machine and drying method. The drying method means the production status of the entire growth line and also represents the supply capacity to the market.

3. The land size

Natural drying requires a huge drying site. Multi-layer and kiln drying can be considered if the land costs more. Although the initial investment is more, there is no need to consider the site issue and weather.

If you can have a large size, it will also be very good for later expansion.

4. The available fuel resources in your area

Fuel options are generally coal, wood, natural gas, diesel, etc.

You need to check the cost of fuel consumption, which is cheap and easy for workers to run the machine.

5. Workers

No matter how good the production line is, it needs a good operator. A good operator can help save machine operation consumption, improve production efficiency, and enable the machine to achieve high-quality operating performance.

Conclusion

The choice of drying method is determined based on all the above factors, and based on the currently acceptable purchasing and operating capabilities. And must leave yourself some space for project expansion.
